The first step in P&G's expansion program was the construction of a new factory
at Kansas City, Kansas, in 1904. Bar soap production began the next year.
Flakes and granules and synthetics were added to the production schedule as they
were introduced by the Company. Principal buildings (in front) are (L-R):
the Kettle House (1), the Packing building (2), the Chips and Granules building
(3), the Main Office (4), the Bar Soap building (5), and the Standard Tower unit
(6).
